Methodology
Last updated November 4, 2026
Every number on this site is either sourced or labelled as an estimate. This page explains the difference.
1. Room dimensions before hardware
We start with the constraint the buyer cannot change: ceiling height, bay width, room depth, and the lowest obstruction in the swing zone. Manufacturer minimums for launch monitors and enclosures are cited from the product manual, not from a retailer's summary.
2. Cost models show their inputs
Installed-cost estimates use visible inputs: launch monitor, projector, screen, mat, enclosure, PC, software subscription, electrical, and labor. Our calculator exposes the room dimensions so you can replace them with your own measurements. We do not present a single "average cost" as if it were a quote.
3. Hardware selection
We compare specifications and measured bay requirements, not press releases. A product earns a recommendation when it meets a defined constraint: a monitor that works at 8 feet, a projector that fills a 10-foot screen from 12 feet, or a mat that survives daily driver practice.
4. What we have not tested
We do not own every product we write about. When a claim comes from the manufacturer or from owner reports, we say so. When we have not tested a unit, we do not imply that we have.
5. Corrections
If a source changes or a reader finds an error, we update the article and the "last updated" date. Emailcontact@golfbayguide.com with the page and the correction.
What we do not test
We do not measure ball-flight accuracy in a calibrated lab or verify every subscription price at checkout. When a number comes from a manual or an owner report, the article says so. When we have not tested a unit, we do not imply that we have.
